How Christian Apparel Can Be a Statement of Belief
When I wear my statement shirts I get two type of people to approach me. One who dare to test God by saying something dumb. Then there is one who says "I like your shirt." They behave impressed when I say I designed it. But, yes! The way we dress has a very big impact on how we appear to others regardless if we are wearing words that say we love the Lord or not.
My experience with sharing my testimonies in a book or even in person I get a response that not only encourage others but build on my strength to share more. I love the responses that I get from many of the people who have read, ask me questions and may say it made them cry. I know it had to be tears of joy for it was a happy ending. Then they ask me to pray for them.
What does it mean to be free? To me, freedom means not being consumed with grief and a mental burden from the world that is placed on you by others' opinions of who they say you are and who or what they say you should be. I am free to have faith in my God and worship without fear. I can love and choose to love the way I want to, who I want, for whatever reason. I am free to be a vegetarian and not have to explain why unless I choose to. I am free to wear my hair as I please. I can get a perm or weave if I choose to. I can rock my natural hair all day and week if I choose to. I am free! I am free! I am free to be me.
